Namma Chettinad!!!
INTRODUCTION
Chettinad finds itself in the UNESCO nomination for sites of cultural and historic value. It is the living place of 'Chettiyars'.Chettiyar refers to a social caste in down south India.Chettiyar is derived from the sanskrit word 'Shreshthi' which means 'wealth'.Mainly,Chettiyars are prosperous merchantile bankers and bussiness people.Initially,Chettiyars trace their origin to Kaveri Poompattinam. They evacuated from that place following a massive flood. From there,They moved to Chettinad.Chettinad comprises of 76 villages, which was 96 initially. Chettinad is located in the Sivaganga district of Tamil Nadu. They were masterminds. They came up with a very great solution to prevent the damage due to floods. The solution is very much interesting, which we'll later discuss in Chettinad Architecture. And as soon as we tell Chettinad,Food comes to mind for many people including me.There is a special cuisine for itself. Chettinad cuisine is most renowned fare in the Tamil Nadu repertoire. Some of the most favourite dishes include Chettinad chicken,Paal Payasam,Kantharappam,Masalchiyam and Kavanarisi(A type of rice pudding made from sticky red rice, initially cultivated in Burma).I bet you wont forget these names if you had tasted them. I've got lots more to say,Stay tuned for further information.Keep supporting!

DeleteMy hearty congrats, all the very best to a budding writer Palaniappan. Excellent start at your age, your mother side family is a great example of the Chettiar tradition followers. I am not familiar with your father side, so no offense. Always proud to be in Chettiar community. At the same time help the needy people in our relatives and community without ego. I am honor to support my childhood dear friend Meyyammai’s son. Vazhga Valamudan!
